TOURNAMENT RULES

Please Note: As there will not be tournament officials on the course, competitors are responsible for "policing" themselves with respect to these rules.  If, during play, you have a question that cannot be resolved by you and your competitor(s), please stop play, summons the nearest club attendant and we will respond to your question.

  1. Play will be conducted from the white tees for male competitors, red tees for female competitors.  U.S.G.A. rules shall govern play unless modified by local rule listed on the Derryfield Country Club score card.
  2. Embedded ball rule in effect through the green (Rule 25-2).
  3. Preferred lies in your own fairway--six (6) inches--mark, lift, clean and place.
  4. Granite markers in middle of fairway and white stakes at edge of fairway are 150 yard markers to center of green.  Free lift is they interfere with stance or swing.  NEAREST POINT OF RELIEF.
  5. In the event of a thunderstorm, play will be suspended by 1 long blast from an air horn.  Play will be resumed by 3 short blasts.
  6. Any unsportsmanlike conduct is subject to immediate disqualification (e.g. club throwing or defacing the course).
  7. All score cards in the qualifying round MUST HAVE TWO SIGNATURES (the player and the playing partner who keeps the score).  Please make sure score cards are legible and turned in to the scorer's tent immediately.
  8. No caddies permitted during qualifying round.
  9. Only persons who are eligible age-wise (Under age 26) to play in the tournament may act as caddies during match play.
  10. Golfers are responsible for being present for any necessary playoffs.
  11. Matches involving male vs. female competitors--par does not matter--strictly score vs. score.

NOTE: No practicing off the 18th fairway.  Replace all divots.  AS SOON AS YOUR MATCH IS OVER, YOU MUST IMMEDIATELY WALK IN.  DO NOT FINISH THE 18 HOLES OR YOU MAY BE DISQUALIFIED.
