Let Us Pray:
God our loving Father, we take a time out before we begin to thank you
for giving us the ability and the opportunity to participate in this
cheerleading competition today. We thank you by offering you the prayer
of our words, actions, and attitude. This competition is more than a
competition because it expresses who and what we are. May we recognize
and respect you as you come to us in our teammates who stand by us, in
our fans who support us, in our coaches who guide us, in our judges who
evaluate us, and in our competitors who challenge us to be our best. May
we see cheering as something we are called to do not only on the court
but in life. May we see cheering as a true ministry where we offer
support and encouragement, as well as spirit and life to others. Help us
overcome our fears, help us accept what is beyond our control, and help
us do and be our best in this competition and in life, through Christ
our Lord.
